Anamaria is a Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Fluent in French, German and English. Her mother is a professional violinist. She has a father who plays and theater professor at one of Romania's leading acting schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award during The Young Actor Gala Mangalia. She was also named"a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. In addition to her outstanding performance in her debut film her character will always be remembered by her work in the Romanian Art Film 4 Months 3 weeks, 2 days that earned her numerous awards including that of the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. In 2007, her performance of Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 months 3 weeks and two days) has earned her both the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two additional awards. These included the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. She also appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. She also played Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the feature film Fury (2014), she played Irma, a German woman who was Emma's aunt.
