Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. Kotero is famous for her role as co-star in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the singer in the girl group Apollonia 6. Apollonia, a singer/actress born to Prince in 1984 became one of many female musicians of the 80s who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her career started as a model during the late 1970s. Kotero also was a guest on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead in Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at which point he had changed the name of her). The same year, she was replaced by Vanity as a member of the trio Vanity 6 and performed with them under the name Apollonia 6 in the film. Sex Shooter was a minor achievement for the group however, she had an even bigger effect as the duet partner of Prince on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. When the two had a disagreement about the direction of her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero ended her association with Prince. Kotero then appeared in a few minor films in the late 1980s (reportedly refusing an opportunity to play in the follow-up to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on acting in a role at night for the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally make her debut album available in 1988. Unfortunately, it failed to leave a lasting impression on fans of music and was soon obliterated from the scene. In the years following, she continued to be active in the field of acting (if a little under the radar) and also in a few film roles, television appearances and even an exercise film. Apollonia recorded a Spanish/English Album entitled Stay with Me in 1997. Later on, following going back to college and obtaining the degree of filmmaking, she formed her production business. Apollonia is employed in a variety of roles. She was a model, singer as well as a talent management manager.
