Awkwafina began as a American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with topics like racial or sexual identities with a funny twist. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood her career, she could make a few songs. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. While in her schooling, she specialized in women's studies and journalism. She was also a student of Mandarin during a time in Beijing. After graduation, she start focusing on music. Her song My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and was later featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was another initiative. After having a great career as a performer She took on the character of actress. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap.
